Another Grodnertal Style Doll

Some health issues have slowed me down lately, but I felt moved to make another Regency styled doll. She turned out to be a redhead with a crown of braids. I was delighted to find in my silk stash the perfect shot silk that reads chartreuse and fuchsia, and there was enough of it to make a dress and bonnet. It goes well with her hair colour. I keep all the patterns I develop for every doll, and the doll body and parts are pretty much the same size, so it took just a few adjustments to put together her dress. On a doll this small, I find it tricky to use the sewing machine and prefer to stitch by hand for most things. She comes with a batiste chemise, pantalettes, and a corded petticoat (using some machine stitching), a silk dress with gigot sleeves, a lace trimmed bertha and a matching bonnet with paper roses. That bonnet took many hours! All bonnets do, but they are so worth it.

The more I look at her, the more she reminds me of someone I saw in a movie, but can't recall who.

She is up for sale in my Etsy shop right now.
